The Leupold Alumina Flip-Back 56mm is the lens cover that stays put, flips quiet, and keeps your glass clean when the weather turns ugly. It screws directly onto any Leupold riflescope built after 2004 with a 56mm objective — VX-5HD, VX-6, VX-6HD, and Mark 5HD models included.

What makes it different

Cheap rubber caps fall off. They flap in the wind. They get lost in the truck. The Alumina doesn’t do any of that. The threaded mount locks onto your scope and the cap itself rotates independently, so you can position it to open exactly where your hand naturally lands. Round objective and ocular models spin a full 360 degrees — set it to open up, down, left, or right.

When you flip it open, a neodymium magnet snaps it flat against the scope body. It stays there. No flapping. No rattle. No spooking the buck you’ve been glassing for twenty minutes.

When you close it, triple O-ring seals lock out rain, dust, and snow. Not “resistant.” Sealed.

Built from actual metal

6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum. The same alloy they use in airplane frames. It shrugs off recoil, knocks against tree branches, and the kind of abuse that turns polymer covers into cracked plastic. Weighs under an ounce.
