The Heat Shield® tip resists aerodynamic heating and helps the projectile retain its shape during flight, maintaining a consistent profile and low drag. The AMP® bullet jacket is manufactured for consistent concentricity and thickness, helping provide reliable performance from shot to shot.
On impact, the polymer tip moves rearward through the bullet’s internal air space and into the core, initiating rapid fragmentation. This makes the Hornady 95gr ELD-VT bullet heads particularly well suited to varmint shooting where rapid energy transfer is required.
