Product Description

BSA R12 SLX Black Pepper Laminate Carbon Bottle Side Lever PCP Air Rifle

Short Introduction

Built in Birmingham and engineered around BSA’s proven mono-block platform, the R12 SLX brings side lever handling, a hand-chambered cold hammer forged barrel and a carbon-fibre bottle together in one precision-focused air rifle. Finished with a striking Black Pepper laminate stock, it’s the natural successor to the R10SE, refined with an Italian-designed Minelli build and a smoother path from magazine to muzzle.

Detailed Product Description

The R12 SLX Carbon Bottle is BSA’s latest side lever PCP air rifle, and it’s the result of several years spent refining what made the R10SE such a favourite among serious shooters. Rather than simply updating the old design, BSA rebuilt the rifle from the ground up around its mono-block platform, the same system that underpins the Ultra CLX and R12 CLX Pro. Fewer components means less to go wrong, and a more consistent shot cycle from the first pellet to the last.

Every R12 SLX ships with BSA’s cold hammer forged barrel, hand-chambered and choked in-house, paired with a redesigned regulator that keeps power output steady across the fill. The 12-shot rotary magazine includes a shot countdown window, so there’s no guessing how many pellets are left, and the probe stops short of moving fully forward once the magazine runs dry, giving a clear physical signal that it’s empty. A second magazine comes in the box.

Where this rifle really sets itself apart is in how it handles bottle options. It comes fitted with a 200cc carbon-fibre air bottle as standard, but the fore-end has been reshaped so a 280cc or 400cc bottle will fit without any modification, giving shooters room to extend their shots-per-fill as their needs change. The sling stud positions have also been adjusted, which means a bipod can now be attached without clashing with the quick-fill port, something that wasn’t possible on earlier BSA side levers.

The stock itself was developed jointly with Minelli in Italy, built to carry BSA’s classic profile while improving grip and balance. Finished in a bold Black Pepper laminate, layered timber that’s been pressed and dyed for a distinctive speckled finish, it’s as tough as it is eye-catching, standing up to knocks and weather far better than a standard walnut stock. A low-profile side lever, added in response to customer feedback, keeps the action smooth without adding bulk. BSA’s CCS (Customer Configurable Shroud) system rounds out the package, letting shooters run the rifle as a shrouded silencer setup or strip it back to just the silencer section if they’re mounting a larger-diameter scope.

Whether it’s used for pest control, target shooting, or plinking at the range, the R12 SLX is built for shooters who want a dependable, accurate PCP rifle without unnecessary complexity.

Why Choose This Product

The R12 SLX isn’t a cosmetic refresh of an older rifle. It’s a ground-up rebuild that keeps the qualities shooters valued in the R10SE while addressing the small frustrations that come with everyday use, from magazine visibility to bottle upgrades to bipod placement. Built on a mono-block platform already proven across BSA’s CLX range, and finished with a barrel that’s hand-chambered and choked at the company’s Birmingham factory, it’s a rifle designed for shooters who care about consistency as much as they care about power. The Black Pepper laminate stock adds a further layer of durability on top of its looks, holding up well to changeable weather and regular field use.
