Product Description
Chiappa FAS 6004 Match Air Pistol
Most target air pistols fall into two categories – cheap springers that don’t shoot straight, or high-end PCPs that cost more than a used car. The FAS 6004 sits right in the middle where nothing else really does.
It’s a single stroke pneumatic. One smooth cocking motion compresses the air. No pumping multiple times. No COâ‚‚ capsules. No air tank or filling gear. Just cock, load a pellet, and shoot. Every shot feels the same because the air volume is consistent.
Match version specifics:
The standard 6004 is good. The Match version is better. You get an adjustable grip – not just a token screw, but proper adjustments for angle, height, and palm rotation. Comes in Medium or Large grip sizes. Walnut, anatomical shape, feels like a real competition pistol.
Trigger is adjustable for weight and travel. Out of the box it’s decent. Spend ten minutes with a hex key and you can get it crisp and light.
Sights are steel, rear adjustable for windage and elevation. Front blade is replaceable. Nothing fancy, but it works and holds zero.
Accuracy:
Rest it on a bag and it’ll put pellets through the same hole at 10 metres. That’s all you need for match shooting. Barrel is steel, fixed to the frame – no moving parts messing with your aim.
Who actually buys one:
-
Club shooters who want to practice without burning through PCP air fills
-
Beginners who don’t want to outgrow their first pistol in six months
-
People shooting from home where a tank fill isn’t practical
-
Anyone who wants a taste of proper match shooting without spending PCP money
The downsides (honest):
It’s not a Steyr or a Morini. The fit and finish is good but not flawless. The cocking effort is noticeable – not hard, but you’ll feel it after 60 shots. Some people find the grip screws need checking now and then.
