RIX Leap L3R Thermal Rifle Scope

The RIX LEAP L3R represents a significant step forward in thermal rifle scope technology. Built around a sensitive 384×288 VOx uncooled sensor with a <20 mK NETD rating, this scope delivers exceptional thermal contrast in challenging conditions. Rain, snow, fog, and high humidity environments do not hinder its performance. The F0.9 objective lens gathers 20% more light than standard F1.0 lenses, producing brighter, more detailed images when light is scarce.

Optical System

The 35mm objective lens provides a 3.2× to 9.6× optical zoom range with a 7.5°×4.2° field of view. Digital zoom extends from 1× to 4× without severe pixel degradation, thanks to enhanced RET technology that doubles and simulates pixels. The result remains clear and usable even at maximum magnification.

The AMOLED display runs at 1920×1080 resolution, producing vivid, high-contrast visuals. Video and photo capture occurs at 1280×720 resolution, saved in .mp4 and .jpg formats to the built-in 32 GB memory.

Integrated Laser Rangefinder and Ballistic Calculator

The LEAP L3R incorporates a laser rangefinder directly into the lens system. This design aligns the laser and optical axes perfectly, delivering distance measurements out to 1200 meters (1312 yards) with ±1 meter accuracy.

The integrated ballistic calculator processes range data instantly. Combined with a fine reticle and 0.35 MOA precision (0.37 inches at 100 yards), this system provides the shooter with immediate, actionable data for accurate long-distance shots.

Return to Center Function

After zeroing, the RTC feature automatically resets the reticle to the center position on the y-axis. This maintains a comfortable field of view and keeps your focus on the target rather than the reticle position. The result is more intuitive shooting and faster target acquisition.

Expanded Eye Box and Comfort

The redesigned eyepiece offers a larger exit pupil and extended 50 mm eye relief. The forgiving eye box expanded by 30%, allowing a full, clear image even without perfect head alignment. Distortion is reduced, and the scope adapts to rapid shoulder transitions without losing sight of the target.

The diopter adjustment range from -5 to +5 D accommodates most shooters without corrective eyewear.

Controls and Operation

Three large knobs and two oversized buttons provide quick, intuitive adjustments even in darkness or with heavy gloves. The zeroing mechanism operates smoothly without requiring direction reversal—simply turn and go.

All camera functions operate through a single dedicated button. Press and hold to capture photos. Short press to start or stop video recording.

Power and Connectivity

A single 18650 battery provides 4 hours of continuous operation. External power connects through USB-C at 5V. Built-in Wi-Fi enables seamless connection to Android and iOS devices through the RIX+ app, allowing wireless software updates and live image streaming.

The 12 µm thermal sensor combined with the 35mm objective lens detects objects at 1800 meters (1969 yards). This range suits most hunting and observation scenarios, providing ample time for target identification and shot preparation.
