CSW Ranger Pro Bipod

Right then. This is the CSW Ranger Pro. I’ve had one on my own rifle for a few months now so this isn’t just cut and paste from a brochure.

First thing – it’s light

407 grams. You notice that when you’re tramping across a field all morning. Aluminium and carbon fibre construction. No cheap plastic bits.

Fits both Picatinny and ARCA

This is the clever part. One bipod. Two rail systems. No messing about with adaptors that get lost in your kit bag. Clamps straight onto Picatinny rails. Clamps straight onto ARCA rails. Swaps between rifles in about ten seconds.

So yes – it’s a picatinny bipod and an arca bipod all in one.

Legs go up to 17 inches

Two stage extendable legs. Twist locks. Nothing fancy – they just work. First stage gets you most of the height. Second stage fine tunes it.

Prone. Kneeling. Shooting over a wall. You’ll find the height you need.

Moves where you need it

• 60 degree tilt – great for uneven ground or hillsides

• 30 degree pan – swing left to right without dragging your rear bag

Three splay positions. Five folding positions.

That sounds like a lot of numbers but here’s what it means in real life – you can set it up low and wide for stability, or fold it flat against the rifle for carrying. Works however you need it.

Who actually buys this?

• Blokes shooting PRS who are fed up with wobbly bipods

• Stalkers who walk miles and want lightweight kit that doesn’t let them down

• Range shooters who swap between different rifles (because it fits Picatinny AND ARCA)

Any downsides?

Honestly? Not really for the money. It’s not the cheapest bipod out there but it’s far from the most expensive. You’re paying for carbon fibre legs and proper build quality. No regrets on my end.
