Installation Instructions (BT81):
- Ensure the firearm is not loaded.
- Verify that the sling stud is tight in the stock.
- (Optional) Consider removing the sling stud, applying epoxy to threads, replacing, and tightening as per epoxy instructions.
- Check the BT81 fit to the stock by placing it over the front sling stud with the smooth face towards the muzzle. Verify if the rubber pads are contacting the stock. Add additional rubber material if needed.
- Do not use the BT81 if the rubber pads do not contact the stock, as it may cause damage.
- Remove the BT81 and place the included 1/8 x 1/2” dowel pin into the rifle’s sling stud hole.
- Carefully place the BT81 back onto the stock with the smooth face towards the muzzle, aligning the ends of the dowel pin with the .530 circular relief hole.
- Press the BT81 against the stock and pull it down towards the buttstock. The dowel pin should engage the angular slot in the BT81 body.
- Tighten the installed dog-tipped set screw with the included hex wrench to snug the BT81 to the rifle stock. Check tension regularly and avoid over-tightening.
- Verify the BT81 is tight before each use, as settling might occur. Retighten as needed.
- To remove the BT81, remove the set screw completely. Then, with a soft blow, non-marring mallet, gently tap on the end closest to the buttstock, moving it towards the muzzle.
The BT81 Lil’ Brandi offers a practical and secure solution for adding a Picatinny Rail to traditional rifle stocks with minimal installation effort and without compromising the stock’s integrity.
